San Francisco Engagement Photo Inspired by a Classic
I was in San Francisco over the weekend shooting Christine and Carlo's engagement photos. Since I had to show that it was San Francisco I made sure to get some of the Golden Gate Bridge and Transamerica building. After that I knew I wanted some street shots. Other photographers go to the Palace of Fine Art which is a beautiful building but what does it to for an engagement shoot? I personally don't find it that interesting so It was walking around the city with what little light we had left. Here are some of my favorites.
The B&W one on the bottom left was a suggestion by Carlo. We were going into a restaurant in Little Italy and saw this outdoor cafe. I asked them to walk to the end and come back and got some shots. When we were inside eating Carlo said it would be cool if he stopped and kissed Christine like the famous Parisian photo. After dinner we attempted it. People kept walking into the shot. When I got back to the computer I realized the people could be motion blurred and that actually gave the best effect. You can see here the original inspiration. A photo by Robert Doisneau (Yes the original one was staged as well).
Here is one that I thought was a throw away because of the dudes in the shot.
But they turned out to be the best things that happened.
